Giving 250 Children the Confidence to Dream! Launching “Lapsed Kooli!” (Kids to School!)

Do you remember that feeling? The smell of freshly sharpened pencils, a brand-new backpack on your shoulders, and those wonderful first-day-of-school jitters in your stomach. It’s a magical moment that every child deserves.

But for too many children in Estonia, September brings anxiety instead of excitement. They worry about an empty pencil case, worn-out shoes, or not having a backpack at all. When a family budget is stretched thin, essential school supplies become an unaffordable luxury.

Education begins with opportunity. Opportunity begins with us.

No child should feel excluded at school because they lack the necessary tools. That’s why NGO Naerata Ometi, Sõprade Klubi (Friends’ Club), and the Narva association for large families “Perekolle” are joining forces once again for the charity project “Lapsed Kooli!” (Kids to School!).

Our mission is clear: to ensure a dignified and confident start to the school year for at least 250 children from substitute homes, large families, and families with special needs.

Your donation isn’t just a pencil or a notebook. It’s a message to a child: “You matter. Your dreams count.”

1. EQUIP A FUTURE LEADER (Donate Supplies)

A donated backpack isn’t just a bag—it’s a source of pride and a daily companion for a child. We are collecting:

• New or like-new (clean and undamaged) backpacks and pencil cases.
• High-quality stationery and art supplies (pencils, notebooks, paints, compasses, etc.).
• Neat and appropriate school clothes, sportswear, and indoor shoes.

2. INVEST IN CONFIDENCE (Donate Funds)

Your financial contribution allows us to purchase the items most critically needed (e.g., specific learning tools or shoes in a particular size). Every euro helps!

• €10 can buy a fully stocked pencil case or an art supply kit.
• €25 can provide sports shoes or necessary workbooks.
• €50 can gift a quality, ergonomic backpack.

3. SPREAD THE WORD & INVOLVE YOUR COLLEAGUES

When are we active? We are collecting donations from the beginning of August until the end of September. This timeframe allows us to coordinate with schools, accurately map the needs of each child, and deliver the aid exactly when it’s needed.
