Dear Friends!
Time flies quickly, and the second month of the year is already halfway through. February is known as Friendship Month—a time to care more and help those in need. At Naerata Ometi MTÜ, we also want to contribute to Friendship Month by making a difference in the school life, learning, and vision of four schoolchildren.
Who are these children, and what is the issue?
These four children come from large families where their parents are raising them alone. Two children are from Tartumaa, one from Harjumaa, and one from Pärnumaa. We have met with them multiple times and can confirm that they are all hardworking students with excellent behavior and good grades. Unfortunately, they have vision problems:
- One child’s glasses are broken beyond repair.
- Two children’s eyesight has worsened, and they need new glasses.
- One child needs their very first pair of glasses, as prescribed by a doctor.
Their parents are struggling financially and cannot afford to buy the glasses. For two of the children, the local government is willing to reimburse the cost, but only if the parents can initially cover the expense. The other two children do not even have this option.
How can we help?
Our good friends at Pop Optika are ready to support by providing free eyeglass frames and conducting vision tests for the children. However, we still need to cover the cost of the lenses, which ranges from €60 to €80 per child, depending on their prescription.
In total, we need €240 to €320 to ensure that all four children receive the glasses they need to focus better at school.
If you would like to support and help these children see and learn better, you can make a donation:
